Pumpkin Palooza

Searching for a family-friendly, FREE event on a fall Saturday? Search no more! Central Gardens, in collaboration with the Clear Lake Arts Center and the Clear Lake Public Library, will be hosting a first-ever Pumpkin Palooza on Saturday afternoon, October 15. (Rain date: Sunday, October 16).

From 4-6 pm there will be lots of activities for children of all ages, including pumpkin painting, many pumpkin games and art activities, a pumpkin-themed story walk, and pumpkin guessing contests. We’ll even have a drawing for some prizes.

Adults will have fun during that time too, watching demonstrations about how to use pumpkins as vases for arranging flowers, drilling pumpkins as an alternative to carving, and how to marble pumpkins. (We’ll post a schedule on our Facebook page.). There will also be a beautiful, fall-themed photo booth, a perfect spot for taking your family’s next Christmas card photos. And there’s more! Local chefs will provide tips (and samples!) for cooking and baking with pumpkins.

Plus, there will be apple cider and popcorn for everyone. Did we mention it’s all free?

Then, from 6 pm to 7 pm, everyone is invited to view a lighted “Pumpkins on Parade” that will take place on the bridges and walkways in the Gardens.

See the Gardens how you’ve never seen them before—in the beauty of twilight with new lighting features and fun pumpkins to celebrate autumn’s beauty.

We hope you, your family, your club or your business help light up the pathways with your own decorated or carved pumpkin! Drop off your pumpkin any time after noon on October 15-be sure to include you or your organization’s name on the bottome of the pumpkin. Lights will be provided.
