Mushroom Toast
Mushroom toast is savory and mouthwatering as a light meal or side dish and would be a unique appetizer to pass around at your next gathering.Ingredients with an asterisk (*) are available seasonally right here in North Iowa! Equipment
- 2 Frying pan
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 slice sourdough bread*
- 1-2 tbsp goat cheese*
- 1/2 cup oyster mushrooms*
- salt + pepper to taste
- microgreens* (optional)
Instructions
- Heat butter in a sauté pan or griddle.
- Once melted pan fry bread slice 2-3 minutes each side or until golden brown.
- While making toast, slice oyster mushroom and sauté in another pan.
- Spread goat cheese on the toast. Then layer on the mushrooms to cover the goat cheese.
- Top toast with optional garnish of microgreens. Enjoy!
