Hazelnut Workshop
Hazelnuts are an emerging new crop for the Upper Midwest with significant economic and environmental benefits. Through research, industry development, and outreach education the University of Minnesota Forever Green Initiative and the University of Wisconsin are working to create a sustainable hazelnut industry that will benefit growers, processors, culinary professionals and consumers.
Following the workshop, there will be an optional tour of a farm growing, harvesting and processing 18 acres of Upper Midwest hazelnuts. This event is intended for growers interested in learning more about production practices for Upper Midwest hazelnuts, but also for culinary professionals, small businesses and others who are interested in sourcing hazelnuts.
