Turtle Apple Slices

- Parchment Paper
Ingredients
- 2 apples* sliced into ½" slices
- 1½ cups chocolate chips we like dairy-free dark chocolate
- 1 tbsp coconut oil
- ⅔ cup pecans toasted
- flaky sea salt
- 1 cup caramel candies or caramel sauce
Instructions
- Line a medium baking sheet with parchment paper. Slice apples into 1/2″ thick round slices. Make a small incision in the bottom of the apple slices and stick in popsicle sticks. You can remove core or apple seeds if desired. Remove excess moisture from apples by patting with paper towel.
- Melt chocolate in a double boiler or in 30 second intervals in the microwave stirring often. Mix coconut oil in with the melted chocolate.
- Dip apple slices in chocolate and place on prepared baking sheet. Sprinkle with pecans and place in refrigerator to harden for 10 minutes. Melt caramel in a double boiler or microwave. You can also use caramel sauce. Drizzle with caramel and sprinkle with sea salt.
- Return to the refrigerator to harden again, this time for 5 minutes. Serve.
