Baked Pears
Did you know that pears, when stored properly, can keep for months after harvest? Enjoy this comforting dessert all through the fall and winter! Ingredients with an asterisk (*) are available seasonally right here in North Iowa! Click on select ingredients to find them nearby or stop by your local farmer's market.
Ingredients
- 2 pear* large
- 1 tsp maple syrup*
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Rinse off all produce.
- Cut off top of pear and scoop out core. Set pear in a baking dish.
- Drizzle maple syrup over pear. Place sugar and butter inside pear. Sprinkle cinnamon to top.
- Bake until fork tender, about 35-50 minutes.
- Enjoy! Great on ice cream! Try it with yogurt for breakfast!
