Food and Farm Day on the Hill
Iowa Food and Farm Day on The Hill
Iowa State Capitol – January 25 – 9am-3pm
REGISTER HERE (FREE)
This event is FREE and open to anyone wishing to advocate for policies that encourage increased local food opportunities within Iowa.
Farmers and food justice advocates will be gathering at the Iowa State Capitol early on in the 2024 Legislative Session to put to practice policies related to food systems transformation, particularly encouraging state investment in local food procurement, processing, and value chain coordination. There will be two shifts speaking with legislators separated by a lunch in between, and organizations have been invited to table in the South Rotunda of the Capitol all day from 9am-3pm (if you would like to have a table, please reach out to thexter@iowafarmersunion.org).
The goal is to encourage legislative wins. We will build upon the collaborative efforts of many food system partners to receive adequate funding and policy commitments for our 2024 Local Food and Farm Justice Priorities.

Noon-1pm – Location TBD – Catered Lunch and Morning Debrief
