Hazel Acres and Nut Haven will play host to the 2022 North Iowa Hazelnut Field Day on Saturday, Oct. 8^th. We will tour the IA Nut Growers Association Hazelnut Test Plot and learn about some of the promising experimental genotypes being tested. At Nut Haven we’ll see the husking equipment and visit the gravel beds where hazelnuts are growing; see the massive rots that can be grown using this gravel bed method. See a new planting established in 2022 and get your hands dirty planting some seedlings at this new site. Join Jeff Jensen for a tour and discussion about agroforestry, water quality, and the Iowa Hazelnut Project.
