Hunger Roundtable: Food Access Networking Event

Food banks and pantries are seeing record numbers of people seeking food in 2024. Local nonprofits are stepping up to address food insecurity in various ways but continue to face significant barriers. Innovative programs that utilize locally grown foods—such as the Iowa Local Food Purchasing Assistance Program (ILFPA) and the Choose Iowa Food Purchasing Pilot Program—demonstrate the potential of collaborative, local solutions to tackle these challenges.

Join the Iowa Hunger Coalition and Healthy Harvest of North Iowa for a Food Access Networking Event on January 17, 2025, at the Community Kitchen in Mason City. We’ll hear from the Iowa Hunger Coalition about why these record-breaking numbers persist and explore actionable steps we can take to address the root causes of food insecurity.

This event will bring together nonprofits, food banks, public health professionals, hospitals, elected officials, and others dedicated to improving food access in North Iowa.

This is your opportunity to connect, share insights, and develop collaborative strategies for building a more equitable and resilient food system.
