North Iowa Fresh/One Vision Bounty Field Day

The North Iowa Local Food Connection is a network of local farm and food businesses and friends building relationships, collaborating, learning together, creating connections that build business and productive communities.

This month’s Connections Field Day will be a fun one. From the farm to the packing table to your table, the North Iowa Fresh/One Vision Bounty Field Day will highlight how this new program is connecting local food with consumers through worksite wellness programs and generating meaningful work. The North Iowa Fresh Bounty Box program offers weekly and bi-weekly deliveries of farm fresh produce, fruit, and more to North Iowa worksites.

The field day will be held on Sunday, September 23, 2:00-4:30 pm., starting at Furleigh Farm, long-time you pick operation. Erik Furleigh will provide an overview of his farm and explain how selling product through North Iowa Fresh fits in. After the farm tour, the field day will move to the aggregation center at One Vision in Clear Lake where products are delivered, finalized for delivery, and delivered.  Cindy Richardson and David Gernetzke, of One Vision, will provide a tour of the aggregation operations and highlight how the program has helped One Vision meet their workforce development goals.

North Iowa Fresh Broker/Manager, Andrea Evelsizer, North Iowa Fresh producer members and worksite partners will all help explain the program. Alexandra Flick, of Stellar Industries in Garner, and Chris Hauge, from Clear Lake Bank & Trust in Clear Lake, will be on hand to explain how this program benefits their employees and their wellness program.

Furleigh Farm is located at 811 N 56th St, Clear Lake. Take Jonquil Ave. south of Hwy 122 just east of the Mason City Municipal Airport. One Vision is located at 1200 N 9th St W, Clear Lake.

The event is free and open to the public.

Please bring a lawn chair. There will be time for visiting and enjoying the food samplings after the farm tour, provided by Fieldhouse restaurant and Crumbs Bakery.
