North Iowa Local Food Coalition Quarterly Meeting

Wed. October 11th, 2PM at CAL Elementary (Farm to School)

1. Local Food Procurement – purchasing raw ingredients from local farmers
2. School Gardens – a hands on learning experience for students
3. Nutrition Education – education in the classroom with taste test and print materials

The North Iowa Local Food Coalition fall meeting will be held in Latimer, Iowa at CAL Elementary on Wednesday, October 11 th at 2pm. Join us to celebrate Iowa Local Food Day, Great Apple Crunch Day, and National Farm to School Month!

Healthy Harvest of North Iowa will be facilitating a meeting to support and educate North Iowans in regard to Farm to School programs. These meetings occur quarterly, and shift topic based on the season. These quarterly meetings are a great chance for consumers, producers, and communities alike to come together on shared experiences and ideas for growing awareness around local food. Attendees will receive a short presentation from a Farm to School project leader accompanied by reserved time to collaborate on future projects.
