Connections Coordinator
Healthy Harvest works to build a thriving network for locally produced foods.
Project Dates: ASAP – December, 31 2025 (potential for extension into 2026)
Status: Part-time, annual contract, approx 50-60 hours per month, flexible schedule
Location: Near Clear Lake, remote (work from home and attendance at some in person events)
Compensation: $20 – $25 per hour, depending on experience and qualifications, payable on a monthly basis based on an invoice submitted by the contractor. Additional hours may be allowed, as funding is available.
Duties:
- Recruit and retain HHNI members, maintaining accurate records and engaging with current members.
- Identify and reach out to potential new members and sponsors.
- Share resources, funding opportunities, and events with members (producers and general list) through monthly newsletters and ongoing outreach.
- Build relationships with producers to understand their needs and connect them with relevant programs and services.
- Coordinate planning of workshops, on farm field days and producer networking events.
- Coordinate with the HHNI team to plan an annual membership appreciation event.
- Manage HHNI’s social media platforms, creating and scheduling content to promote programs, events, member highlights and responding to messages in a timely manner.
- Perform minor website updates, including posting events, updating resources, and ensuring accurate information.
- Promote HH and local food events happening in North Iowa through identified methods.
- Assist with fundraising efforts and events.
Desired Skills:
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Experience in agriculture, food systems, marketing, or nonprofit work is a plus.
- Proficiency in tools like Mailchimp, Canva and social media platforms.
- WordPress experience is a plus, but not required.
- Self-motivated, with the ability to manage multiple tasks independently.
- Strong time management
Independent Contractor Status: This position will be acting as an independent contractor of Healthy Harvest of North Iowa and not as an employee. Contractors are expected to provide their own equipment (i.e. computer, printer) and transportation. The Contractor should understand that no employment benefits (retirement, insurance, etc.) result from this position, and she/he is responsible for her/his own self-employed tax liability. The Contractor shall be free to set her own work hours and appointments, and conduct the work as she/he sees fit in order to fulfill the project goals and objectives as stated above.
