Homemade Pita Chips

A great chip for dipping in hummus or tzatziki or topping for salads. Ingredients with an asterisk (*) are available seasonally right here in North Iowa! Click on select ingredients to find them nearby or stop by your local farmer’s market.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 pita bread
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 2 tbsp herbs* of choice

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 400. Slice the pita into 6 triangles each. Place in a Tupperware or large bowl.
  • Toss with oil, salt, pepper, and chopped herbs.
  • Lay the pita chips onto a baking sheet, taking care not to crowd them
  • Bake for 12 - 15 minutes. Cool and enjoy!
