Local Jam Glaze

Utilize local meat and preserves all year long! This recipe makes an excellent sauce using the jam of your choice. Add some excitement by glazing cooked chicken, or other meat. Also a great on seasonal veggies. Ingredients with an asterisk (*) are available seasonally right here in North Iowa! Ingredients
  

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic* Minced
  • 1 tsp ginger Minced fresh or dried
  • 1 oz jam* of choice
  • 1 ½ tsp soy sauce
  • 1 ½ tsp sriracha
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 tbsp butter

Instructions
 

  • Drizzle oil in a sauté pan at medium heat.
  • Add garlic and ginger, sauté until fragrant.
  • Add jam, soy, and water. Bring to a simmer to thicken glaze (3-5 mins).
  • Turn off heat. Stir in sriracha and butter.
  • Coat meat and enjoy over rice and veggies
