Fruit Compote

Compote is simply fresh fruit that has been mixed with sugar and allowed to macerate. Mix and match your fruits, experiment with honey or sugar amounts, and acids to make it your own! Ingredients
  

Optional Add-Ins

  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • 1 tsp fresh ginger
  • 1 tsp red wine
  • 1 tsp white wine

Instructions
 

  • Wash and prepare your fruits. Remove any stems.
  • Add honey or sugar and any optional add-ins to taste.
  • Let sit at room temp for 30 minutes. Cover an refrigerate.
  • Serve on ice cream, with cookies, cake, on top of yogurt, or mascarpone! This compote also makes a tasty topping for pancakes, waffles, or biscuits.
